Message	(is it carbon?) on the aluminum. I've been using a dremel and wire brush accessories to clean it all up. My turbos also had very little shaft play, but as you said, there were some dents to the oil pan (nothing too serious), but I already bought a new one anyway. Also, I later found that the water pipes at the back had been bent backwards, and I had a very tough time bending them back into shape, so I had to buy $60 in new water pipes. I paid $1150 + tax for mine and picked it up in person.
